Biography

Diana Pilcher studied art at Brighton University and Northbrook College in West Sussex graduating in 2000 with a B.A.(Hons) Degree in Fine Art Painting. She had previously followed a career in teaching and research. On completing her degree she embarked on a range of post-graduate studies in video editing, analogue film-making and printmaking.

From 2001 to 2014 she was employed as a lecturer and course manager. Diana wrote and managed several Foundation degrees in Fine Art and a further degree in Media Practice. In 2014 she became a tutor, and later unit leader, for the M.A. Degree in Media Production (Film Editing) for Bournemouth University until retiring in 2021.
 
Diana now works as a full-time artist based in Somerset. She continues to work across mediums of painting, printmaking and lens-based technique. In her approach to making work she seeks to use whatever materials are appropriate to her creative thoughts and feelings. She is a member of both the Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter and The Old Brick Workshop, Wellington, Somerset.
